Perhaps some places in the country hate to see October come around and summer end, much like we aren’t too fond of May and the oncoming summer heat. October is much like May is in the colder climates i believe. We may get warm but the nasty heat is over and our nearly 8 months of the best weather in the country are at hand. Of course with great weather means great gardening opportunities: Geraniums and other bedding flowers are coming in, winter vegetables (all the cool leafy things, onion sets, garlic, seeds for carrots….) arrive every Friday, winter rye grass seed is in, and of course it’s the best time to plant about any tree, shrub, or vine! Stay tuned as other new arrivals begin to show up like dwarf citrus in another week or so!!
So take advantage of our “spring” rather our great October weather and let’s plant something!!
